MAZDA TAIKI CONCEPT CARThe Mazda Taiki is one of the many slick concept cars, it's built for speed and minimal eco-impact and may very well find itself on the racetracks of tomorrow. Aesthetically, the Taiki's dramatic, windswept curves are supposed to impart the movement of air around the vehicle as it zips along. Besides the Taiki, some of the other upcoming designs focus on the compact

Catfish Speedster is the Mazda MX-5 You Always Wanted to Have and It's Coming to SEMA

Bauer Limited Production is a new company formed by Cord Bauer’s Bauer Limited Production, Ron Hemphill’s Diversified Products, Tony Woodford’s AWR Racing and Dave Green’s DG Motorsports, with the purpose of using their expertise to design and develop a custom sports car named the Catfish.

The donor vehicle that the Catfish is based on is none other than the Mazda MX-5, also known as Miata and Roadster (only 1st/NA and 2nd/NB generation models from 1989 to 2005 can be used for its construction). The Japanese carmaker's open top, two-seater model was chosen because of its perfect 50:50 weight distribution, simple and light yet effective construction and affordability.

Being on the Guinness Book of Records as the best-selling two-seat sports car ever means that there are many used and reasonably priced examples to choose from: the Miata / MX-5 that was used for the first Catfish prototype cost a mere US$800 (€610).

Mazda Tuner BBR Announces “Super 180” Performance Upgrade for Third-Gen MX-5

rsstou | 08:47 | 0 comments

Brodie Britain Racing, or BBR as it is commonly known, is a UK-based tuning company that specializes on Mazda models. Some of you may recall the 150HP turbocharged Mk1 (NA) MX-5/Miata, among them a special edition launched in celebration of the 787B winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1991.

More than two decades after the last rotary win in La Sarthe, the MX-5 is currently in its third generation (NC) and BBR is still producing tuning packages for the world’s best-selling two-seater car in history.

BBR has now announced a new, normally aspirated package for the third generation MX-5, which was produced from 2005 onwards.

Bat-Holding Teen Smashes a Mazda6 Over a Magazine Cover...We Think

While nothing really surprises us any more, it's not everyday that you see a youngster going berserk on a fairly new vehicle.

To be honest, though, we have some reservations about the authenticity of this episode and whether it was staged or not (for whatever reason), but ultimately, we will let you be the judge of that.

Nissan GT-R Transformed Into a Robot for New Japanese Gaming and Film Franchise

rsstou | 18:11 | 0 comments

Autobots and Decepticons move over because there's a new Japanese franchise about cars transforming into robots and it's named Chō Soku Henkei Gyrozetter.

Well, actually, to be frank, it’s far too early to tell if the new franchise will have the success of the Transformers series but the fact that it has licensed several cool cars like the Nissan GT-R, Mazda RX-8, Toyota 86 (Scion FR-S in North America) and Mitsubishi Lancer EVO has certainly captured our attention.

After searching into the unknown depths of the Japanese gaming world (not knowing the language doesn't really help…) we found some basic information about Chō Soku Henkei Gyrozetter.

The new franchise is the work of Japanese video game developer, publisher and distribution company Square Enix, which is mostly known for its Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest series.

Here are some new pieces of the puzzle that is the 2014 model year Mazda6, and more specifically, fresh photos of the station wagon variant that will make its first public appearance at this month's Paris Motor Show.

The more practical and roomier (at least in terms of luggage space) Mazda6 Wagon sports an equally athletic design as its saloon counterpart with a heavily slanted rear window and a tailgate that digs in much lower into the rear bumper compared to the four-door sedan to make loading easier.
