BMW Warns 2013 M5 and M6 Owners to Stop Driving Their Cars

You would think BMW would want owners of the latest iterations of the M5 sedan and M6 Coupe and Convertible models to have a blast with their cars – and you're right, it does, just only after it makes a fix to certain 2013MY vehicles sold in the States.

A safety bulletin issued by BMW of North America and released to the world for all to see by the folks over at the F10 M5 Post forums, reveals that the Bavarian automaker came to know of a problem with the S63TU 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine found in the 2013MY M5 and M6 cars.

Software Glitch Causes Delays in Deliveries of Certain 2012-2013 GM Models Including Cadillac ATS

General Motors may have increased its US sales in August by 10 percent compared to the same month in 2011, but last Wednesday it notified its dealers to stop deliveries of some of its most popular models.

The reason is a software glitch on the OnStar communication system that affects the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze, Equinox and Volt, the Cadillac ATS, SRX and XTS, the Buick Verano plus the GMC Terrain.

GM spokesman Alan Adler said that the issue has been identified as the system failing to alert the OnStar call center in an accident that the vehicle’s airbags are not deployed, like a rear-end collision.

2013 Ford Escape Recalled for the Third Time Since July, Again for Potential Fire Hazard

If it seems as if Ford is constantly recalling its newly launched 2013 Escape crossover, it's because it is.

After two recall actions in July, the first affecting 8,266 models to fix carpet padding that could get in the way of braking, and the second around 11,500 models with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine over a potential fire risk, the Blue Oval has issued a third recall, again due to a fire hazard for the same engine.
