This is the New 2014 Subaru Forester Compact SUV!

rsstou | 18:45 | 0 comments

It may have escaped from our scoop photographers' radar, but we finally caught up with the next iteration of Subaru's Forester compact SUV, which in its three previous generations, has built a name for itself as a robust and no-nonsense model that rides well both on and off the road.

These pictures are sourced from the new Forester's Japanese market brochure, but most of what you see here sans the engine range can be applied to the global model.

The new Forester, which will go on sale in Japan in mid-November before it reaches both North American (as a 2014 model) and European shores as a 2013 model) next year, is likely based on a revised version of the latest Impreza's platform.

Compared to the current Forester, Subaru's best-seller has grown all around and now measures 4,595mm or 180.9 inches long (+35mm), 1,795mm or 70.7 inches tall (+15mm) and 1,695mm or 66.7 inches wide (+20mm). The wheelbase is also longer at 2,640mm or 103.9 inches (+25mm) to improve space for passengers.

rsstou | 09:52 | 0 comments

With the European market in turmoil, Peugeot has every reason to pay more attention to the models it builds and sells in overseas markets like the 408 Sedan, which is an extended-wheelbase, notchback version of the 308 hatch that is offered in China, South America and more recently, in Russia as well.

The spies over at China's Sohu captured some pictures of an undisguised prototype of the facelifted 408 Sedan.

U Spy: New Porsche 991 Turbos Drop By Santa Barbara

rsstou | 13:38 | 0 comments

CarScoop reader Ben F. has supplied us with a spy picture he shot earlier this summer of a 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo prototype parked at a gas station somewhere in Santa Barbara.

We will let Ben explain the 'hows and whens' of the encounter:

"I spotted the 991 Turbo in Santa Barbara this July. There were three of them: two coupes and one cab. All three were black. They were probably headed to the Mojave for some heat stress-testing. I attached a picture for you. The air inlets on the sides have plastic panels on them that look like those from the 996... I don't think they're part of the car, but the air intakes themselves are DEFINITELY real."

The wait for one of the crown jewels of the new Porsche 911 series is almost over as it shouldn't be too long before the automaker removes the last remaining pieces of camouflage from the Turbo model in both Coupe and Convertible forms.

CarScoop reader and avid Porsche-hunter Toldi was able to capture a thinly disguised prototype of the new 991 Turbo Coupe on the streets of Porsche's hometown of Stuttgart in Germany with his camera.

Spied: Renault Finishing Up Development of New Clio Sport Tourer

rsstou | 08:11 | 0 comments

Renault may have slipped up by placing a naked example of a pre-production 2013 Clio Sports Tourer in an official video (later on removed) for the new generation Clio hatchback, but it's still not willing to admit defeat and continues to keep the prototype models under some seriously twisty camouflage wraps.

The new Clio Sport Tourer, which most likely will follow the example of the outgoing model and be offered under different monikers in Europe including Estate and Grand Tour, is clearly longer than the five-door hatchback with an extended rear overhang to improve the luggage area.

Leaked Porsche 918 Spyder Brochure Tells us that a Blue Shade will Cost Buyers a Mere...$65,000

rsstou | 14:57 | 0 comments

While most manufacturers do their best to hide their latest models from prying eyes before their official launch, Porsche has been quite forthcoming about its new supercar, the 918 Spyder.

In fact, it has already released a barrage of information, including the specifications of its 770+ HP hybrid powertrain and (provisional) performance figures: 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) comes in 3.2 seconds and top speed exceeds 320 km/h (199 mph).

Today, Porsche announced on its Facebook page that the 918 Spyder has lapped the Nordschleife in 7:14’. That's better than most supercars, including its Carrera GT predecessor and the Lexus LFA Nürburgring edition, but behind the "old" Dodge Viper ACR (7:12.13) as far as production models are concerned.

Le Scoop: New Renault Captur Small Crossover Based on the Nissan Juke

rsstou | 07:20 | 0 comments

The success of Nissan's crossover models such as the Juke and the Qashqai in Europe has not gone unnoticed by its partner Renault, which is now preparing to duplicate the Japanese brand's recipe staring with a junior CUV.

At the 2011 Geneva Salon, Renault hinted at its intentions to enter the small crossover segment with the fancy Captur Concept. Later on, the French automaker confirmed the development of a production model loosely inspired by the study to replace the Modus and Grand Modus small minivans in its European lineup.

Now, we have the first scoop photos of the prototype model that will lead to the production version and which was nabbed while testing in Europe. As you can see, the only resemblance to the concept is the car's front-end styling with the rest of the body being completely different.

2014 Corvette C7 Prototypes Pictured and Filmed in New Mexico

rsstou | 16:41 | 0 comments

One of the most sought after prototype vehicles of the year has been photographed and filmed, not by professional spy shooters, but by a reader and a YouTube user respectively, both in the same place in Red River, a resort town in Taos County, New Mexico, over the weekend.

The photos come to us courtesy of a Jalopnik reader who spotted a large fleet of General Motors' sports cars consisting of five Camaro ZL1s, all current versions of the Corvette C6 including the base model, the Z06 and the flagship ZR1, plus eight covered models that are believed to be prototypes of the next Corvette C7.

rsstou | 12:07 | 0 comments

The Stuttgart-based sportscar maker unveiled a pre-production development model of the 918 Spyder dressed in a race-inspired livery on the last day of the event.

New Mercedes-Benz CLA Compact Four-Door Coupe Caught Undisguised During Photo Shoot!

rsstou | 15:17 | 0 comments

For the past year or so, spy photographers have been following Mercedes-Benz engineers all over the world to capture a glimpse of the brand's upcoming CLA premium compact sedan, or as the Germans are likely to describe the car in their press material, a four-door coupe.

Naturally, the brand with the shining star has always been careful to keep the prototype and pre-production models of the CLA well hidden under foil wraps and plenty of plastic cladding.

However, with the official presentation of the CLA coming closer every day, at some point, Mercedes-Benz had to remove the camo to complete the necessary photo and video shoots that always take place in remote locations. Little did they know that when they did, someone would be out there to capture the production car in its…birthday suit.

That someone was Bernhard Kohlmeier who was vacationing with his family in Iceland at the Northern Light Inn situated within walking distance of the famed Blue Lagoon (more on Bernhard's experience and first thoughts on the car's looks after the jump).

Spy Shots: Renault Working on Second Sporty Clio, Could Wear the Gordini or GT Badge

rsstou | 11:24 | 0 comments

If these spy shots are anything to go by, then in addition to the new Clio RS 200 with around 200hp under its hood, Renault is also prepping a "lite" version to fill the gap in the range between the regular models and the RS flagship.

The prototype model entering the Renault facility in Germany featured a restyled front bumper with a larger lower air-intake in a different design than the one seen on the Clio RS test car, along with a new set of wheels, light grey colored mirror caps, a rear diffuser, and an extended roof spoiler.

Scoop: 2013 Renault Clio RS 200 Undisguised in White, Paris Motor Show Debut and EDC Confirmed

rsstou | 17:30 | 0 comments

Only yesterday, we brought you pictures of the new Clio RenaultSport (RS) Mk4 without a single trace of camouflage, but our scoop photographers were fortunate enough to spot a second undisguised prototype, this one finished in a more revealing white instead of black exterior shade.

But that's not the only reason we're writing this post as fresh information landed into our hands earlier today.

What we learned is that the "New Clio RS 200 EDC" will definitely make its first public appearance at this month's Paris Motor Show. If you noticed, we mentioned the name of the car in quotes. This is because that's how the performance version of the new Clio was described to CarScoop.

rsstou | 09:01 | 0 comments

For the first time in its history, Land Rover will offer a long-wheelbase (LWB) version of its luxury Range Rover model and we have proof for this in the form of these spy shots of a disguised prototype model undergoing speed tests at the Nürburgring track.

As you see for yourself in the pictures, the upcoming addition to the recently revealed 2013 Range Rover Mk4 lineup sports a longer wheelbase (reportedly around 150mm / 5.9 inches) and longer rear doors.

SCOOP: New Ferrari F70 V12 Hybrid Makes Another Pass for the Camera

This video footage comes courtesy of the crew at the YouTube channel Speedspot who filmed an F70 draped in black covers while cruising on the roads around Maranello in Italy along with some not-so-happy Ferrari people…

Spied: New 2014 Volkswagen Golf R Sheds All of its Camouflage

rsstou | 16:04 | 0 comments

The regular versions of the brand-new Volkswagen Golf Mk7 are fine and dandy, but what we really want to see is the performance editions and more specifically, the GTI and of course, the R-branded models of the series.

Just a couple of weeks ago, our spies nabbed a prototype of the next Golf R, but it was armed up to the teeth in camouflage – which was logical since Volkswagen had yet to uncover the Mk7.

Now that it did, however, VW engineers made away with the swirly wraps giving us an unobtrusive view of the prototype Golf R.

One of the most eagerly anticipated new Mercedes-Benz models is the CLA, which is the toned down, production version of the Concept Style Coupé (CSC) presented to the world this past spring.

Scoop: New Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell Sheds its Camo and Gets Caught By Our Lens

rsstou | 13:06 | 0 comments

When Mercedes-Benz displayed the SLS AMG E-Cell concept at last year’s Detroit Motor Show, company boss Dr. Dieter Zetsche boldly stated that it is “the most technically advanced sports car in the 125-year history of the automobile” and confirmed that a production version was on its way.

This year, the three-pointed star announced that the SLS AMG E-Cell would hit the market in 2013. While 2012 still has some way to go (assuming the Mayas were wrong and the world doesn’t end…), the production version has been caught completely undisguised.

Spy Shots: New Renault Clio RS Mk4 Caught Completely Undisguised!

rsstou | 05:28 | 0 comments

Even though Renault hasn't made it clear it yet if the regular fourth-generation Clio supermini will be joined by its performance brethren, the Clio RenaultSport (RS), at the brand's the Paris Motor Show stand, there's a good chance it will.

Those of you who just can't wait to see how the 2013 Clio RS Mk4 looks like, we have good news as for the first time, our spy photographers nabbed the hot hatch completely undisguised at Renault's Nürburgring facility.

The frisky French supermini will take on the likes of the also new Peugeot 208 GTi and the Volkswagen Polo GTi when it goes on sale in Europe next year.

On the outside, the RenaultSport variant obtains a rather discreet styling package, which includes a newly styled front bumper with enlarged air vents, a honeycomb grille insert surrounded by a body-colored strip (instead of the regular model's chrome finish), side skirts, a larger roof spoiler and a twin-exhaust set-up in the rear apron that hosts a diffuser.
